When sunbeams illuminate the horizon like a spotlight, when birds hang motionless, when the ocean reveals glimpses of the world below, when rugged old cliffs are deliciously proud and peaceful... THIS is THAT.
📌Where previous versions of 'Hidden Depths' (and Off Shores) have had a pale blue background, for this piece I decided not to use any blue. Instead, raw umber, grey and white have been blended to create a multi tonal background that varies across the canvas.
The sky has also had more attention, I've layered up textured clouds in this piece and worked in early/last light hues.
📌Features a map 1963 map of Flamborough hidden in the water, and a dash of Yorkshire sand for that extra special touch!
Acrylic & mixed media.
