This 'Weathered' is inspired by formidable sea walls!  Salty splashes and watery blue tones bring the energy of the ocean, contrasted by blackened, raw colours of palo santo wood.
 
Last month on a morning run in Filey, I couldnt help but notice the sea wall... something I've seen hundreds of times before!  This time though, the textures, life forms, colours and shapes residing on just a small stretch were remarkable to me.  
 
When I got home, 'Breakwater' emerged.  The deep-set, right-angular walls of the steps to and fro the beach (near where the beach huts are), have also come through which bring an anchor to the fluidity in the rest of the piece.  
 
Breakwater also contains Filey sand.
