This canvas began with a deep, visceral need to use the colours chosen: smoky pinks, nude browns, burned orange and teracotta tones, creamy whites and transluscent greys.  
 
I knew from the off this piece was about Ibiza, and the name 'Postcard From Ibiza' came to me the moment I began painting. 
 
I knew that in contrast to the natural colour palette, I wanted to finish my work with a touch of chrome gold pizazz.  Having seen various features recently on the 'Six Senses' Luxury resort, I understand that Ibizian simplicity is often served with a side of glamour!
 
To that end, splashes of gold water, and over-sized pebbles, wind their way across the canvas in whimsical formation.
